Cardamom prices surged 2.96 per cent to Rs 730.80 per kg in futures trading today as traders created fresh positions, taking a positive cues from spot market on strong demand.
Besides, tight stocks position on restricted supplies from producing regions supported the upside.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in April shot up by Rs 21, or 2.96 per cent, to Rs 730.80 per kg, in a business turnover of nine lots.

On similar lines, the spice for delivery in May edged up by Rs 3.10, or 0.41 per cent, to Rs 751.80 per kg in 104 lots.
Market analysts said fresh positions by participants on the back of rising demand in the spot market against restricted supplies from producing regions mainly pushed up cardamom prices at futures trade.
