Cardamom down 0.74% on sluggish demand

Sufficient stocks in the physical market add to downward presssure on prices

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Cardamom futures fell by 0.74 per cent to Rs 852 per kg today, as traders reduced their holdings amid sluggish spot demand.

Besides, sufficient stocks in the physical market also influenced cardamom prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for May contracts declined by Rs 6.40 or 0.74 per cent to Rs 852 per kg with a business turnover of 210 lots.

The June contract lost Rs 5.40 or 0.62 per cent to Rs 865 per kg with a trading volume of 16 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by participants owing to a weak trend at spot market on subdued demand, mainly put pressure on cardamom prices at futures trade.
