Cardamom futures fall 2.71% on weak spot cues

Cardamom prices fell by 2.71 per cent to Rs 855 per kg in futures trade today as speculators cut bets, taking negative cues from spot market on muted demand.
Basides, reports of bumper output in the producing centres of Kerala too weighed on the cardamom prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in the current month contract was trading lower by Rs 23.80, or 2.71 per cent, to Rs 855 per kg in business turnover of 13 lots.
Marketmen said offloading of positions by participants owing to slackened demand in the physical market against adequate stocks position on higher supplies from producing belts weighed on cardamom futures.
