Amid strong domestic as well as export demand in the spot market against tight stocks position, cardamom prices traded higher by 0.66 per cent to Rs 1,135 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in November was trading higher by Rs 7.40, or 0.66 per cent, to Rs 1,135 per kg, in a business turnover of 16 lots.

On similar lines, the spice for delivery in December traded higher by Rs 2.50, or 0.22 per cent, to Rs 1,143.40 per kg in three lots.

Analysts said besides rising domestic as well as exports demand in the spot market, tight stocks position on restricted arrivals from producing belts, mainly pushed up cardamom prices at futures trade.
