Cardamom gains by 0.8% on spot demand

Participants enlarged their positions, taking positive cues from spot market on improved demand

Cardamom prices edged higher by 0.77% to Rs 852 per kg in futures trade today after participants enlarged their positions, taking positive cues from spot market on improved demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange cardamom for delivery in June month rose by Rs 6.50 or 0.77% to Rs 852 per kg in business turnover of 56 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in May contracts edged up by 40 paise or 0.05% to Rs 850 per kg in 233 lots.

Analysts said speculators built up fresh positions, driven by pickup in demand in the spot market, mainly influenced cardamom prices at futures trade.
