Cardamom futures remain weak on tepid demand

Cardamom prices drifted lower by 0.25 per cent to Rs 1,050.70 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced their positions amid muted demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in June month declined by Rs 2.60, or 0.25 per cent to Rs 1,050.70 per kg in business turnover of 1 lot.
Analysts said trimming of positions by participants, tracking a weak trend at spot market on easing demand against ample stocks position on increased supplies from producing belts, mainly kept cardamom prices down at futures trade.
