Cardamom prices fell further by 1.53 per cent to Rs 1,142 per kg in futures market today as speculators lowered their exposure, taking negative cues from the spot market because of muted demand.
At Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in August fell Rs 17.70, or 1.53 per cent, to Rs 1,142 per kg in a business turnover of 40 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in September contracts declined by Rs 13.30, or 1.22 per cent, to Rs 1,078 per kg in 24 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by participants owing to easing demand in the physical market against adequate stocks mainly pulled cardamom prices down in futures trade.
