Uptrend in cardamom continues on rising demand

Spice extends gain for second straight day, December contract up 0.63%

Extending gains for the second straight day, cardamom prices advanced by 0.63 per cent to Rs 671 per kg in futures trading today as speculators enlarged positions on the back of rising demand in the spot market.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in December month gained Rs 4.20, or 0.63 per cent to Rs 671 per kg in 114 lots.

Analysts said apart from a firm trend at spot market on rising demand, restricted supplies from producing regions mainly kept cardamom prices higher at futures trade.
