Cardamom rises by 0.9% on strong demand

Cardamom prices were up by 0.93% to Rs 941.40 per kg in futures trading today as speculators enlarged positions, driven by strong demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in far-month September rose by 8.70, or 0.93% to Rs 941.40 per kg in business turnover of 4 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in August traded higher by Rs 7.10, or 0.76% to Rs 944.50 per kg in 249 lots, while July contract edged up by Rs 1.40, or 0.14% to Rs 979 per kg in 56 lots.
Analysts said besides strong spot market demand, tight supplies from producing belts, mainly led to the rise in cardamom prices at futures trade.
