Press Trust of India New Delhi
Cardamom prices were up 0.87 per cent to Rs 797 per kg in futures trading today as speculators created positions driven by pick-up in demand in the spot market amid hopes of improved export demand.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in July rose Rs 6.90, or 0.87 per cent, to Rs 797 per kg in business turnover of 13 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in June edged up by Rs 6.70, or 0.82 per cent, to Rs 817 per kg in 116 lots.

Traders said the rise in cardamom prices in futures trade was mostly attributed to rising demand in the spot market against restricted arrivals from producing belts.
