Almost a year after the abduction of a woman teacher here, a case has been registered against her husband, his second wife along with his brother who are at large, police said today.

The case was lodged yesterday against Ather Khan, his wife Rubina and brother Khizer, following a complaint by the victim's brother at Khandhla town in Shamli district here, they said.

Rani, a teacher of a private school here, was allegedly abducted on July 9, 2013 when she was on her way to school in Shamli. Her family had alleged that she was kidnapped and then murdered by the accused persons, police said.

"A case of abduction has been registered and investigation is on," said Amer Deep, Station House Officer of Kandhla police station.

Rani, a native of Haridwar, got married to Ather Khan 18 years back and the couple had three daughters and two sons.
