Police sources said the family members of Mir Aminul Islam demanded action against the three policemen for harassing the young man who had taken a rape victim to Karaya police station to file a complaint.
Chairman of the West Bengal Human Rights Commission Ashok Ganguly told PTI here that the Commission has sought a report from the police within two weeks.
Islam had immolated himself before the police station on December 3 last year in protest against alleged police inaction on the rape and his harassment.
His family members produced a note he had written asking them to raise their voice against the alleged nexus between the police and the rapist.
