Case registered against unknown persons for circulating fake

The Punjab police today said it has registered a criminal case against unknown persons in connection with false advertisements related to recruitments.

Fake advertisements regarding vacancies in the Punjab police are being circulating on social media to lure the youth to usurp money from them and to cheat the government, a Punjab police spokesperson said.

He said no such advertisement or announcement have been made or advertised by the Punjab police for recruitment or employment of any cadre in the force for the current year.

We are advising the general public to disregard such fraudulent messages or posts on social media and they should inform the nearest police station or police officer concerned if any person claims or assures for any such employment in the police, the spokesman said.
 

He said the state cyber crime wing of the Punjab police has registered a case in this regard under relevant sections, including 420 of IPC and the IT Act at its its police station in SAS Nagar.
