Case registered aginst quarry owners

Police today registered a case against four granite quarry owners on charges of illegal mining.

On a direction from the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court, where One Raja had filed a case against illegal quarrying, case had been registered against the four, police said.

The case had been filed against the back drop of U Sagayam committee inquiring into the illegal mining of granite in Madurai district, officials said.
