Case registered for threatening magistrate

Police today registered a case against a murder convict for threatening to kill and abusing a magistrate here after he sentenced him to life.

Police said Sundaramurthy used defamatory terms against the magistrate Prakasan and threatened to kill him when he read the sentence order and asked his opionion about the punishment as per court practice.

According to prosecution Sundaramurthy and his friend Balusamy used to sleep infront of a drama company office here daily.

On Dececember 4, 2011, he had a quarrell with Balusamy for sleeping in his mat and had hit him with tiles, killing on the spot.
 

The Magistrate sentenced Sundaramurthy to life imprisonment observing the police had proved the case beyond doubt.
