Cate Blanchett to produce and star in 'Cancer Vixen'

Actress Cate Blanchett is teaming up with HBO to executive produce and star in a TV movie about a woman's battle with breast cancer.

The story is based on Marisa Acocella Marchetto's memoir 'Cancer Vixen: A True Story', the Hollywood Reporter said.

Marchetto, a cartoonist, was planning her wedding when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. The book recounts her 11-month battle with the disease.

Blanchett will executive produce and star in the project, which is in development via HBO Films.
