CBI has arrested a junior engineer of Commander Works Engineer from Nashik for allegedly accepting briber of Rs 50,000 for clearing pending bills of Rs 60 lakh, the agency said in a statement today.
Mukund Arvind Ghodke, Junior Engineer(QS and C) working in the office of Commander Works Engineer (CWE), Deolali Nashik (Maharashtra), was arrested.
"A case was registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 against Junior Engineer (QS & C) working in the office of Commander Works Engineer (CWE), Deolali, Nashik for demanding a bribe of Rs 50,000 from the complainant for clearing his pending bills of Rs 60 lakh," CBI spokesperson said.

After getting the input, CBI teams laid a trap and searched the premises while the bribe was being exchanged.
The arrested accused will be produced in the designated court tomorrow.
