CBI raids residence, office of top MES official in Kerala

The CBI today raided office and residence of a top official of Military Engineering Service (MES) here on the basis of a complaint of financial irregularities against him, official sources said.

They said the CBI sleuths carried out searches at the office and residence of Chief Engineer R K Garg located at Katari Bagh in Wellingdon Island where the Southern Naval Command of Indian Navy is located.

When contacted, a Defence official said the person whose residence was raided is a civilian officer of Military Engineer Services, a civilian organisation providing Infrastructure to the Armed Forces.

Sources said the officer facing charges of financial irregularities belongs to the Indian Defense Service Engineers (IDSE) cadre.

 

The Navy is extending all support and cooperation to the investigation team, a Defence spokesperson said.
