Jindal Steel and Power Ltd today said CBI has registered an FIR in connection with the allotment of coal block in Chhattisgarh to the company.
"We wish to inform you that, CBI has, based on the preliminary enquiry initiated by it on directions from Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), registered an FIR in connection with the allotment of coal block in Chhattisgarh to the company," it said in a communique to the stock exchange.
Naveen Jindal-led JSPL, however, said all its actions were in keeping with the legal framework of the country and that it complied with the law in letter and in spirit.

"JSPL continues to co-operate with all the authorities in a responsive manner," the company added.
Meanwhile, shares of Jindal Steel & Power fell over 8 per cent today, eroding Rs 1,198.42 crore from its market valuation.
