Celebratory gunfire injures boy

Army jawan Mukhtar Singh allegedly opened fire while dancing at the wedding function in Kotla Sharaf village, they said.

The bullet hit the shoulder of Akashdeep Singh who was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital.

Later, he was rushed to Amritsar for treatment, police said adding the armyman was absconding.

A case had been registered and a hunt launched to nab Singh, they said.
