The trade unions, who organised a general strike on February 28, are likely to meet on July 11 in Delhi to deliberate on their plan of action, senior CPI leader Gurudas Dasgupta, who is also General Secretary of All India Trade Union Council (AITUC), told reporters here.
Alleging that the UPA followed anti-people policies, he said the Congress-led government's actions had resulted in economic crisis with growth rate, industrial production and investments falling drastically.
Replying to a query, he said the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC), probing the 2G spectrum issue, is likely to meet on July 10 to discuss the list of witnesses. Dasgupta is a member of the panel.
Media reports today said the JPC was forced to withdraw the list of witnesses, which included former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and former Defence Minister George Fernandes.
