Centre considering more anganwadis in JK: Minister

The demand for setting up 10,000 Anganwadi Centres in uncovered and far-flung areas of the state and recruitment of one more additional anganwadi worker in each existing anganwadi centre is under active consideration, Union Minister for Women and Child Development Krishna Tirath said here.
She said this while presiding over a high level meeting of officers of state Social Welfare Department to review the results of various schemes under implementation for uplift and development of women and children.
She said this step will further universalise Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) network by extending coverage to the uncovered areas of the state especially in Ladakh, Kargil and far-flung areas of Rajouri-Poonch and Kashmir.
