Centre declines B K Mishra candidature as CMD, BCCL

The Centre today declined to consider B K Mishra as Chairman and Managing Director of Bharat Coking Coal Ltd (BCCL, a subsidiary of Coal India Ltd.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has declined the proposal of the Ministry of Coal for appointment of Mishra as CMD, BCCL and directed Coal Ministry to seek name in the reserve panel from Public Enterprises Selection Board, an order issued by Department of Personnel and Training said.

Mishra is working as Director (Technical), Projects and Planning at Western Coalfields, another CIL subsidiary.

At present, N Kumar, Director (Technical) at Coal India, has been holding additional charge of the post of CMD of BCCL.
 

Dhanbad-based BCCL is a public sector undertaking engaged in mining of coal and allied activities.
