The Centre today said it is drafting a model contract farming law and has asked state governments to send their views.
That apart, a new draft model APMC law, which aims to increase farmers' income, is in the final stage of approval.
The Ministry of Agriculture in consultation with Niti Aayog has identified nine marketing reforms to be made in Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) Act.

"These include three mandatory reforms enabling integration to e-NAM viz provision for e-trading, unified trading license and a single point levy of market fee...," an official statement said.
These marketing reforms will help in reducing the intermediaries between producer and buyer and ensure remunerative prices to farmers.
The states have been asked to relax the felling and transit rules for trees being grown by farmers on their own lands so as to encourage agroforestry which has a huge potential for supplementing the income from agriculture.
