Press Trust of India New Delhi
Chana prices softened by 0.37 per cent to Rs 4,900 per quintal in futures market today as speculators reduced their exposure, driven by easing demand in the spot market against adequate stocks.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in September moved down by Rs 18, or 0.37 per cent, to Rs 4,900 per quintal with an open interest of 17,360 lots.

Likewise, the commodity for delivery in October contracts traded lower by a similar margin at Rs 4,871 per quintal in 11,050 lots.

Market analysts said cutting down of positions by traders owing to subdued demand in the physical market against enough stock position primarily led to the decline in the chana prices.
