Press Trust of India New Delhi
Falling for the second straight day, chana prices dropped by 0.67 per cent to Rs 5,012 per quintal in futures trading today as traders indulged in reducing positions, tracking a weak trend at spot market on fall in demand.

In futures trading at the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for delivery in October month fell by Rs 34, or 0.67 per cent to Rs 5,012 per quintal with an open interest of 1,47,260 lots.

Similarly, the commodity for delivery in September contracts traded lower by Rs 31, or 0.62 per cent to Rs 4,980 per quintal in 10,230 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators, driven by easing demand in the spot market against sufficient stocks position mainly kept pressure on chana prices at futures trade.
