Chana prices edged higher by 0.28 per cent to Rs 2,818 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators indulged in creating positions amidst improved demand in the spot market supported by festive season.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in October moved up by Rs 8, or 0.28 per cent to Rs 2,818 per quintal with an open interest of 6180 lots.

Similarly, the commodity for delivery in November gained Rs 2, or 0.07 per cent to Rs 2,887 per quintal in 1,06,950 lots

Analysts said fresh positions built-up by speculators after demand picked up in the spot market in view of festive season helped chana prices to trade higher at futures trade.
