Press Trust of India New Delhi
Chana prices declined 0.27 per cent to Rs 2,945 per quintal in futures market today as speculators trimmed positions amidst weak demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for delivery in August eased by Rs 8, or 0.27 per cent, to Rs 2,945 per quintal with an open interest of 5,350 lots.

In a similar fashion, the commodity for delivery in September traded lower by Rs 7, or 0.23 per cent, to Rs 2,973 per quintal in 1,53,730 lots.

Market analysts attributed the fall in chana futures to subdued demand from dal mills in the spot market against increased supplies from producing regions.
