The Andhra Pradesh government was committed to transform the state into a most accomplished place in the country, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said here today.
Strengthening of various sectors including, education, tourism, agriculture, industries and women empowerment would be given more importance, he said in his address after unfurling the national tricolour here on the occasion of the 71st Independence Day.
The prestigious Polavaram irrigation project would be completed by 2019, he said speaking at the state level Independence Day celebrations at the Tarakarama stadium at Sri Venkateswara University campus.

After the bifurcation of the state in 2014, with a view to ensure all round developments to all the 13 districts in the state, Naidu proclaimed to celebrate independence day in all head quarters of the districts.
On earlier years, the celebrations were held in Kurnul, Vishakapattanam, Anantapur.
