Chennai to host National Inter-State Athletics in July

The 55th National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championships will be held in Chennai from July 10-13, the national federation said today.

The Championships, to be held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, will serve as trials for selection of Indian athletes for the IAAF World Championships to be held in Beijing from August 22-30.

Meanwhile, India finished fourth at the first Asian Youth Athletics Championships held in Doha by winning 14 medals (2 Gold, 6 Silver and 6 Bronze). India finished second behind China in number of medals won.
