Andhra Pradesh's Labour Minister Kinjarapu Atchem Naidu distributed cheques for Rs 5.25 lakh as ex-gratia payments to kin of those who died recently in a compound wall collapse near Tiruvalluru in Tamil Nadu on Sunday.
Out of 5.25 lakhs, Rs 3.25 lakh is from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund, while Rs 2 lakh is from the Labour Department.
These amounts have been paid to them in addition to ex-gratia payments of Rs 2 lakh announced by the Tamil Nadu government.
The AP Minister for Labour assured the families that the government would provide better education to children who lost their parents and give all necessary help to them.
