Chg House adjourned sine die

The Chhattisgarh Assemblywas adjourned sine die today by Speaker Gaurishankar Agrawal, a day ahead of the scheduled conclusion of the Budget session.

After listed business for the day, including call attention motion notices, the Speaker announced that the House was being adjourned till further notice.

The Budget session had a total of 16 sittingsfrom February 5 to February 27 during which around 92.43 hours of discussions were held, the speaker said.

During the session, five bills were passed and notices for 2670 questions, including 1352 starred and 1318 un-starred questions, werereceived, he said.

A total of 144 questions came up for discussions in the House, which were answered by the government.
 

Altogether 232 adjournment motion notices were received on varied issues, of which 32 notices on a single issue were taken up for discussion on their admissibility. They were subsequently rejected after the government's reply, he said.

Also 30 adjournment motion notices were converted into the call attention motion notices during the session, he added.

The upcoming monsoon session will be the last session of the 4th Chhattisgarh Assembly before the state goes to polls.

The monsoon session is likely to be called either in the first or the second week of August, the speaker said.
