Chhattisgarh govt inks 7 MoUs across diverse sectors

The Chhattisgarh government today inked memorandum of understanding (MoUs) with as many as seven companies across varied sectors, officials said here.

"The MoUs were signed with seven major companies in the presence of Chief Minister Raman Singh at his official residence," an official spokesperson said.

State's Department of Commerce & Industries Secretary Subodh Kumar Singh signed the MoUs on behalf of the state government with the representatives of companies, he said.

These agreements would attract an investment of Rs 236 crore across electronics, food processing, engineering and coal value addition sectors, besides generating employment opportunities for over 2000 youths in the state, he said.
 

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said, "The MoUs signed today would prove beneficial in the direction of implementing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Make in India vision."

The official apprised one MoU each was signed with SDSL Electronics Pvt. Ltd., Ligero Electronics Pvt. Ltd., and Beesons for investment in electronics sector.

These companies would establish LED manufacturing units in EMC (Electronic Manufacturing Cluster) coming up at Naya Raipur, and would bring cumulative investment of around Rs 56 crore in the state, he said.

"These projects would employ highly qualified professionals and highly skilled manpower in the state. The project is a fervent endeavour to bring the enabling electronics manufacturing ecosystem in Chhattisgarh," he said.

Besides, an MoU was signed with Asquare Food & Beverages Pvt. Ltd. In food processing sector to establish a spice processing plant in Chhattisgarh, the spokesperson said, adding this would bring an investment of Rs 25 crore.

Another MoU was signed with Chhattisgarh Coal & Power, managed by Nakoda Group, for setting up of 4 MTPA capacity coal washery unit in Korba, he said.

The land allotment of the same is already in process by CSIDC (Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation), he added.

Moreover, an MoU was inked with APL Apollo Tubes Pvt. Ltd. (a subsidiary of Sudesh Group) for setting up of ERW galvanised and pre-galvanised steel tubes and hollow sections, while another was signed with Tirumala Balaji Smelters Pvt. Ltd. (a subsidiary of Rungta Industries) to manufacture railway engineering products in Chhattisgarh, the official said.

Chhattisgarh Industries Minister Amar Agrawal, state Chief Secretary Vivek Dhand, Principle Secretary to the Chief Minister Aman Kumar Singh among other officials were present on the occasion.
