Chilli teja prices slumped 1.96 per cent to Rs 9,212 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators trimmed positions tracking weak trends at spot markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chilli teja for delivery in March month plunged by Rs 184, or 1.96 per cent to Rs 9,212 per quintal with an open interest of 60 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in far-month April contracts traded lower by Rs 190, or 1.96 per cent to Rs 9,494 per quintal in 30 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators on the back of sluggish demand in the spot market mainly kept pressure on chilli teja prices at futures trade.
