Christian Bale undergoes transformation for untitled project

Actor Christian Bale has been spotted in a new avatar for filmmaker David O Russell's untitled film.

The 39-year-old was seen sporting a bald patch and a paunch after undergoing a drastic transformation for his latest film role, reported the Huffington Post.

The film, slated for release at the end of the year, also co-stars "Silver Linings Playbook" leads Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence.

Bale's most famous transformation till now was for 2004's "The Machinist", when he lost 62 pounds (28 kilograms) to play a chronic insomniac.
