CID to investigate army officer assault case

Sandip and Sudip, two sons of the former Chief Minister Samir Ranjan Burman had allegedly manhandled Colonel B B Yadav on July 27 at a private telecom service provider's store.

Yadav had filed an FIR in West Agartala police station.

Lt Gen A K Sahni, GOC the 3 Corps had recently met Chief Minister Manik Sarkar here and requested him to take proper action against the offenders.

Sudip, who is also the PCC chief, however, denied the incident of assault of any army officer and alleged that the colonel had attacked his elder brother Sandip.

The Burman brothers have also filed an FIR against the army officer.
