A CISF head constable on duty at Rajiv Gandhi Memorial here fatally shot himself with his rifle today, police said.
The victim, S S Yadav, hailing from Aligharh district in Uttar Pradesh, came to the armoury room at around 2.30 PM, and suddenly picked up his INSAS service rifle and shot himself.
He was rushed to a government hospital, but succumbed to his injuries.
An investigation was on to ascertain the reason behind him taking the extreme step, police said.
