The annual civil-military liaison conference between the Chandigarh Administration and the Army, aimed to effectively coordinate and synergies joint efforts to resolve issues of mutual interest, was held today.
The conference was held at Western Command headquarters of the Army at Chandimandir, near here, a defence release said here.
The meeting was co-chaired by Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Shivraj Patil and Lt General Philip Campose, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Command, it said.

Besides, other high ranking civil and defence officials from the two sides also participated in the annual event.
Lt General Campose, highlighted the objectives of the conference, saying "the conference was organised to effectively coordinate and synergies joint efforts to resolve issues of mutual interest."
He thanked Patil "for the wholehearted support to the defence forces and also for the positive response in resolving a number of issues."
Patil, while speaking on the occasion, complimented the armed forces for their role in nation building and further stated that he was proud of the strong bond existing between the armed forces, the people of Chandigarh and the Union Territory Administration.
He assured the Army that the Chandigarh Administration would continue to strive to assist the defence personnel and ex-servicemen community, including war widows in all possible spheres.
