Claire Sweeney welcomes son

British TV star Claire Sweeney has become a first-time mother after welcoming a son.

The 43-year-old actress-TV presenter gave birth to a little boy at a medical centre in her native Liverpool, England.

The baby is her first child with her former fiancee, computer software tycoon Daniel Riley, reported Contactmusic.

"We are thrilled to say our little boy came into the world on Monday at 1.58 pm. Thanks to all... We are thrilled with our bundle of joy," Sweeney posted on Twitter.

She also dismissed rumours she has named her son Walton, after the place of her own birth, adding, "Our little boy is not called Walton, his name is to be decided by us.
