Five persons were taken into custody and a sub-inspector was suspended following a clash between two groups which claimed three lives in Khurja Dehat area of the district, police said today.
Security has been tightened in Fareedpur village where the clash broke out yesterday after a 16-year-old girl was allegedly eve-teased by a youth belonging to an upper caste.
"Five persons have been taken into police custody for interrogation. A Sub-Inspector was also suspended," SP Rural Vijay Gautam said.
Three persons were killed and four others were injured in the clash between the two groups. Stones were also pelted on the police team when they had reached the crime spot.
