Monsoon rains continued to elude Bihar today with the weather office predicting a cloudy sky with possibility of rain or thunder over the next 24 hours in the state.

Day temperatures in places like Patna, Gaya, Bhagalpur and Purnea stayed around 33-34 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperature stood in the range of 26 degrees Celsius, it said.

Purnea witnessed the highest humidity level at 95 per cent followed by Gaya at 83 per cent, while the same at Bhagalpur and Patna stood at 74 per cent and 72 per cent respectively.
During the day, Bhagalpur received 4.1 mm rainfall followed by 2 mm in Purnea and 1.3 mm in Gaya, the MeT Department said.
