Prices of cloves and cardamom fell upto Rs 10 per kg at the wholesale kirana market today following decline in demand against sufficient stocks position.
However, other spices moved in a tight range in scattered deals and settled around previous levels.
Traders said sufficient stocks against decline in demand mainly led to the fall in cloves and cardamom prices.
In the national capital, cloves fell by Rs 10 to Rs 840-890 per kg.
Cardamom small varieties such as chitridar, colour robin, bold and extra bold were also declined by Rs 5 each to Rs 695-745, Rs 675-735, Rs 725-745 and Rs 895-945 per kg respectively.
Following are today's quotations per quintal:
Ajwain (per kg) 15,500-20,000, black pepper (per kg) 750-900, betel-nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,420-1,480 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,520-1,660.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 695-745, cardamom (colour robin) 675-735, cardamom bold 725-745, cardamom extra (bold) 895-945 and cloves 840-890.
