Jayalalithaa launches initiatives totalling Rs 70 crore in Tamil Nadu

Among the initiatives launched by her were cold storage facilities, six modern godowns and a complex for tender coconut in Coimbatore

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Tuesday launched a series of initiatives in the agriculture department totalling Rs 70 crore, the government said today.

Among the initiatives launched by her were cold storage facilities constructed at an estimated Rs 21 crore in various parts of the state, six modern godowns at Rs 7.20 crore and a complex for tender coconut in Coimbatore, a 'first-of-its-kind' initiative in the state.

She also launched 29 jeeps for the department, by handing over keys of two of the vehicles to the drivers, a state government release said.
