The Puducherry government today suspended driver of the official car of Chief Minister V Narayanasamy for negligence in duty.
A senior officer in office of the chief minister told PTI that the driver, Ibrahim, was suspended after the chief minister noticed that the national flag was fluttering upside down on the mast of his car.
Narayanasamy made the observation tonight at the Chennai airport before leaving for Puducherry. The chief minister then came out of the vehicle and re-fixed the flag on the mast in right form, the officer said.

The officer said after returning Puducherry, the chief minister immediately ordered suspension of the driver, a quasi-permanent staff of the Puducherry government.
Narayanasamy had returned from Delhi today after camping there for three days, meeting some of the central ministers seeking clearance of various developmental projects of Puducherry, the officer said.
