Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will confer the P V Sami Memorial Industrial and Socio-Cultural award on K Muraleedharan, renowned business entrepreneur and philanthropist, here on September 1..
A jury headed by M P Veerendrakumar, Chairman and Managing Director of 'Mathrubhumi' and consisting of Prof Dr C K Ramachandran and well-known film director Sathyan Anthikkad has selected Muraleedharan for the award, a release said.
The function will be followed by a seminar on the topic 'Guard Change in Delhi-Will it affect secular India', which would be inaugurated by State Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala.

Personalities from political, media and social walks of life would participate.
Former winners of the award include Capt Krishnan Nair, M A Yusufali, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Dr B Ravi Pillai, P N C Menon, M P Ramachandran, Gulfar Mohamedali, C K Menon and Varghese Kurian.
P V Sami, veteran freedom fighter, renowned industrialist and philanthropist, died on September 1, 1990.
