Coal Minister Goyal calls on West Bengal CM

Minister of state with independent charge for power, coal and new & renewable energy Piyush Goyal today called on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee after a review meeting held at the head quarters of Coal India Ltd here.

"Today I came for a review meeting of Coal India Ltd. Since this is my first visit to the state after becoming minister, this is a courtesy call on the Chief Minister," Goyal said after a 40-minute meeting with her.

He, however, declined to divulge on what transpired during the meeting with Banerjee.

Goyal later left for the state BJP party office for an internal meeting.
