A Head Constable of a special force was today injured during an encounter with Naxals in dense forests in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district, police said.
The gunbattle took place at around 2:25 pm in Karigundam forests under Chintagufa police station limits when a team of CoBRA 206th battalion was returning to its camp after carrying out an area domination operation, Sukma Superintendent of Police Indira Kalyan Elesela told PTI.
Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) is a specialised unit of CRPF.

Security forces lunched the operation early this morning from their Temelwada camp to the interiors of Chintagufa, located around 450 km from state capital Raipur.
On way back to camp, an exchange of fire broke out between security forces and ultras near Karigundam, about 5 km ahead of Temelwada, leaving a Head Constable injured, the SP said.
The gunbattle lasted for some time following which the Naxals managed to escape from the scene, he added.
The CRPF trooper, identified as Uday Narayan, sustained bullet injury on his stomach, Elesela said.
On getting information about the gunfire, he said, reinforcement was rushed to the spot, and added efforts are on to evacuate the injured trooper from the forests.
