A collection agent with a private firm was abducted and held hostage in a moving car for over two hours and later dumped after being thrashed and robbed of Rs 3 lakh in Shalimar Bagh area of northwest Delhi, police said today.
Dayanand, 34, who works as a Munim and collection agent with a firm dealing in metal at Shahabad Daulatpur area was abducted and robbed of Rs 3 lakh by three car-borne criminals on Ring Road in Shalimar Bagh area on August 23 evening, police said.
In his statement Dayanand told police he was returning to his office on his scooter after collecting the money when three youths in a car intercepted him and forcibly dragged him inside their vehicle.

The trio took him around for over two hours in the car and kept on beating him. Finally they threw him out in a service road in the area after snatching his bag carrying Rs 3 lakh.
Later, with the help of a motorcyclist he made a PCR call and was admitted to a hospital by the police.
A case has been registered under Sections 365 and 393 of IPC and investigation is underway to nab the unidentified accused, said a police officer.
