College student held for attempt to rob ATM

A Polytechnic college student was today arrested for allegedly trying to break open the ATM of the Bank of Baroda near here.

The 19-year-old Mohammed Saliq, a native of Malappuram in Kerala had tried to break open the ATM at Chennimalai two days ago but failed, Sibichakravarthi, Superintendent of Police, told reporters here. He had covered his face with a cloth and was wearing gloves, the officer said.

He has been remanded to judicial custody.
