College students drowns in Brahmaputra

A college student drowned in Brahmaputra today here.

According to river police officials, the deceased was been identified as Nayan Das (25), a student of the fourth semester of graduation in Tezpur College.

Police said Das along with one of his friends were sitting on a rock at Forest Ghat under Tezpur police station when his shoe fell in the river.

While trying to get it, Das slipped and drowned. His friends tried to save him but could not, the police said.
